THE BURROWERS
![]() Okay, on the cover of this one we have what appears to be a cross genre flick. Western and Horror. Set sometime in the old west it tells the tale of four men and a cavalry looking for a lost woman who is thought to have been taken by Indians.
Now I like horror and westerns and on the rare occasions that they have mixed (Dead Birds, Ghost Town) I have enjoyed the pairing so I was amped to watch this one. When it was over I sat back and thought about all the other things I could have done instead of wasting my time on this shit.
In my opinion, in order for a western to be good, you have to have a least one well rounded character if not more to either root for or hate. What this movie gave us was the stereotypical caricatures of people that were just riding around awaiting their turn to be victimized that horror films so often give us. So it failed as a western.
Now on the horror aspect of this I was hoping for some good pacing as the story remained generic. This came of as disjointed garbage as if the director could not decide which genre he really wished to pursue. Not even Clancy Brown could save this although he came the closest to giving us a character. Of course they killed him off before that character could become realized.
And the monsters? I think that the producer found them in the garbage behind a studio that was filming a Cradle of Filth video.
Avoid this one.
