Set in the city of Ember(duh) a city illuminated only by artificial light. When the city's generator begins to fail, two teens race to solve an ancient mystery and save Ember's citizens from darkness.

What it is, is an excellently made family friendly film, filled with excellent acting by all in it. That being said I was very disappointed in it. Let me explain why.

The entire film is over two hours long and it speeds along so that you don't notice. The solving of the mystery is entertaining but when the escape begins I found myself comparing it with Goonies. And then its over.

It was really good and entertaining but I just wanted a little more. Worth checking out.
