THE WRESTLER

Who won the best actor Oscar?  Oh yeah, Sean Penn for pandering to the politically correct ass monkeys in Hollywood. Who deserved to win the Oscar? Well, since this is a review on The Wrestler I suppose I'll go with Mickey Rourke.

This movie follows Randy "The Ram", a once popular wrestler, who tries to piece together a life after his star has faded.  It is essentially a character piece and what a character he made.  Although I have enjoyed Mickey Rourke in several films he is now and forever Randy the Ram.

This was an amazing film from start to finish, full of complex and human characters.  It paints a portrait of a man who struggles for validity now that the fans who once gave it to him have abandoned him.

Wonderful everything.  Script, direction and performances.  I can't wait to see Slumdog Millionaire now, since that is the film that beat it come award time.  Oh and it is always a pleasure to see Marisa Tomie wander around with no clothes on.

If you missed this then run out and rent it now or if you have the funds just add this jewel to whatever other celluloid treasures you currently possess.
