Final Analysis: Typically I would avoid watching anything packaged as J-Horror (I know the Pang Brothers are not Japanese) but at the insistence of Ben, I checked this one out. It is not a horror film but rather Dark Fantasy and I don’t really like fantasy movies either. That being said this is a visual smorgasbord and stylistically intriguing. However, as with J-Horror, all the flash and style leaves me with no empathy or connection to the characters. I just couldn’t get into the story or invested in the characters. Style over substance here. That style is a spectacle. I wouldn’t recommend this film but I also wouldn’t discourage you if you are interested in it. Check out Ben's Review here.
